Introduction

The Cycas (Cycas revoluta), commonly known as the Sago Palm, is one of the oldest living plant species on Earth, dating back over 200 million years. Although it resembles a palm tree, it is not a true palm; instead, it belongs to a primitive group of plants called cycads.

Cycas is highly valued for its symmetrical crown of glossy, dark-green leaves and its slow-growing nature. It is widely used in gardens, landscapes, parks, hotels, office entrances, and indoor decoration because of its elegant and tropical appearance.

  • Thick, rough, cylindrical trunk.
  • Covered with old leaf bases.
  • Stores water and nutrients.
